The RE&SC is responsible for reviewing the research proposals of students of different

Departments of NIMS Medical Complex, facilitating these researches, and enhancing the capacity of the faculty and students in the field of research.

The following are the details of the RE&SC:

The objectives of the RE&SC are;

1) To develop faculty for reviewing, and conducting clinical and educational research.

2) To supervise research activities of students.

3) To help in conducting high-quality research.

The following are the roles of RE≻

1) To review, evaluate and decide on the technical and ethical aspects of research proposals.

2) To ensure guaranteeing the rights, dignity, safety, and protection of individuals and communities (human and animals, plants and environment) participating in research.

3) To observe the above mentioned during the process of conducting research.

4) To follow the laws and regulations during research as laid down by the HEC & parent University.

The following is the composition of RE≻

1) Members, who will be appointed by the Chairman, will run the activities of RE&SC,

Tenures:

1) Members shall be for a period as decided by the Chairman.

2) The absence of a member for consecutive 3 meetings without valid reasons shall lead to suspension or replacement.

3) A member can resign by giving a fortnight prior notice to the Chairman.

Review and approval of research proposals;

1) At least one meeting every month.

2) Proposals should be submitted to the committee within the given time frame.

3) Certificates should be signed by the supervisor/project head, third party reviewer, Chairman (RESC).

4) The researcher should personally defend the proposal in front of the committee if the committee wants further clarification.

5) Proposals may either be approved, sent back for corrections, or rejected.

6) If the research subject is human then the voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential and the consent should be submitted with the proposal.

7) Approval for proposals must be granted before the start of the research.

Functions of the Chairman;

1) Conduct a meeting at least once a month.

2) Assign responsibilities to any member of the committee.

3) Facilitate the committee for the improvement of RE&SC.

Functions of the Members;

1) Participate in meetings.

2) Prepare documents for meetings and its minutes.

3) Share the workload with other members of the committee.

4) Facilitate the training for newly inducted members.

5) Sign the certificates of approval and rejection.
